Google Personalized Homepage

Now you can have more than just the Google search on your homepage. You can add news, weather, RSS feeds, movie reviews, stocks, and more. It’s a fairly new product so I’d expect to see some more features added in. The only thing I’d like to see is some sort of way to organize my bookmarks.

Why are people taking beer??? If they are going to take anything, why not take something that would be useful … like food and water and clothes?

Google Blog Search

14 September 2005 @ 3:54pm

So today Google released a blog search. Basically the search is narrowed down to blogs rather than every website. This way you can see who else is posting in their blogs about certain topics.

If you don’t have a blog you should get one. If you have your own domain and hosting use http://www.wordpress.org but if you don’t have your own domain and hosting then you can get one at http://www.wordpress.com

Verizon SUCKS!!!

14 September 2005 @ 12:38pm

On August 31st I called Verizon to have them transfer my service to my new address. They said fine, the phone would be installed on the 15th and the DSL on the 27th. So I asked them if it could be installed any sooner than the 27th. They said sure, to verify the day the phone would be installed and they could do it the same day. I verified with the phone department of Verizon that it would be installed on the 12th now, I got them to bump it up. I called back and spoke with someone on the CAT team of Verizon DSL and they said they could do it the same day.

Well, it is the 14th and still no DSL. So I call them today and they tell me that there is no way possible for this to be expedited. She said I first have to wait for my old service to be turned off. That was done on the 7th. Then she said I had to wait for my phone to be turned on at the new place … that was done on the 12th. Then she said once the phone is installed I have to wait 3-5 business days to get my information changed in their computer system. How damn slow do they type!? Then from there it would be 5-7 business days till the DSL would be installed.

WTF takes so damn long. Seriously. This pisses me off. Everyone can transfer my services immediately, but with Verizon they tell me it will take a month before I can get my DSL. I think this line from the theme song of Team America fits rather well with what Verizon can do right now.

So lick my butt and suck on my balls.

Moving sucks!

11 September 2005 @ 3:52pm

So we finally moved, but it sucked big time. The thing that probably made it the worst was the fact that we were pretty busy during the middle of the week.

Wednesday: 9am-1am
Thursday: 4pm-1am
Friday: 2pm-4am
Saturday: 8am-12pm

I’m about to just fall over and sleep for a week straight. But everything is in the new apartment and now it’s just a matter of getting things put where we want them. Verizon better have my phone and DSL turned on tomorrow like they said they would. Right now I am at the business center in my apartment complex checking my email and trying to catch up on some things.
